OneClimate1The United Nations Conference on Climate Change is taking place this December 7th through the 18th.  The importance of this event for the future of our planet cannot be overstated.

Those attending in Denmark will be limited to the diplomats and negotiators, selected press, students, and representatives from various groups.

Yet you can have a voice too.  You can experience the event, listen to the presentations in real time, offer your questions through moderators and meet with other people from around the world with similar concerns.

I would like to invite you to consider participating, from your desk or laptop computer, requiring only your time, enthusiasm and commitment.

I have been working closely with OneClimate.net, Beta Business Park, and Commonwealth Islands to host the Copenhagen Expo in Second Life – and you are invited to attend!  OneClimate will be streaming the event inworld and taking questions and comments from those attending via Twitter and Second Life.

The OneClimate staff has done this before, from the Climate Change Conferences in Bali and last year in Poznan.  This year from Copenhagen they will organize and host live streaming, Q&A sessions and much more (see Appendix for press release). Working with Link TV, Justin TV, The Guardian, Greenpeace, YouTube and others they will bring the conference to life.

You can attend as a private individual, simply wanting to experience this historic event and share it with people from around the world.  If you would like to represent your business or non-profit organization, make a presentation or attend other scheduled lectures, you are welcome and encouraged to do so!

Beta now has a portal into SL, a full time staff ready to greet you and help you become acclimated to this new environment.  With various sims and groups participating, there will be a great deal to see, do, and learn about as virtual worlds become increasingly important and viable tools of communication.

Come join us in Second Life.  Lend your voice to others from around the world in letting our governments know that we the people demand serious action on global warming – now!

I hope to hear from you soon!
