Under the name of Metaverse Association we have some ‘land’ in Second Life. In this context, ‘land’ has nothing to do with real estate, but it means as much as that we rent a part of a Second Life server to build and use. Building is in this context: building a 3D website in the “virtual” three dimensional web. Metaverse Association now has a gallery for artists who we invite to exhibit and we also have two stages to meet and perform or present.
We also have build two presentations for clients at Metaverse Association. For “Parkt presents …” we have reconstructed the gallery of which the real version is found in Amsterdam, in the Reguliersdwarsstraat, one of the busy streets around the Rembrandt Square. At this time, until May 3, Albert van Westing exhibits his work in Parkt presents .. and therefore as well in Second Life.
Concert Hall Tilburg (Theaters Tilburg) has two presentations in Second Life. The three monthly photo exhibition on display is actually in the foyer of the Concert Hall, and it currently shows work by Merijn Denkers. And “Spotlight” which is the display in front of the concert hall, where every three months a new piece of ‘light art’ is exhibited, currently “lily” by Anke Kuipers.
Recently we have expanded the room for the Metaverse Association and now there is again plenty of space for new presentations. The number of visitors is obviously not as big as a normal website, but the attention value of a Second Life presentation is tremendous. We also make film and / or photographs of the presentations for our clients to show on their websites and on Facebook.
We are very pleased with this expansion and we look forward to another presentation.
